John Jeffray Ancestry Glasgow


This afternoon I am presenting an image of a grave marker from Glasgow's Necropolis.

It records that John Jeffray of Cardowan was born January 24th 1813, died January 21st 1900.

    John Jeffray's father was once accused of being a "resurection man". His father was James Jeffray, proffesor of anatomy at glasgow university for nearly 60 years.

    The Jeffrays lived in Cardowan house which lay to the south east of the current location pf the village of cardowan.
