Ross Ancestry, Glasgow, Scotland
This morning, I visited Glasgow's famous Necropolis ( City of the Dead) where I obtained information on Ross family history from a memorial stone there, viz:
John Macdonald Ross of Ledgowan, Achnasheen, Rossshire. He was born Dingwall May 28th 1838 and died at Glasgow July 9th 1905.
Wife, Robina Gilroy, died Dec 9th 1920.
Son, Robert Ross, died Dec 20th 1935 age 58 years.
Canadian with a very large piece of Murray&Co pottery from 1800-1850 Have been in contact with Scotlish Pottery Society to verify.Large 5 gallon earthenware/stoneware vessel in abouve average condition with plug.My email tinagill@nb.sympatico.ca Have pictures!
William Murray was his name, he owned kilns in or near Glasgow.
