This afternoon, I am posting information on Pattison family history as sourced from a memorial slab inside Paisley Abbey. The inscription bears the legend:

Erected by John Pattison, Merchant in Glasgow and Hope Margaret Moncrieff his spouse in memory of two children-

•  Matthew Moncrieff Pattison died Dec 9th 1786 age 3 yrs.
• Scot Moncrieff Pattison died Aug 29th 1788 age 16 months
