This evening, I am posting information on three persons who were martyred in the 17th century owing to their adherence to Presbyterianism and resistance to efforts to impose a new liturgy on the Church in Scotland.
This memorial can be found in Cathedral Square, close to Glasgow Evangelical Church. It records the deaths of:
- James Nisbet on June 5th 1684.
- James Lawson on Oct 24th 1684.
- Alexander Wood on Oct 24th 1684.
