Paton Ancestry, Glasgow, Scotland

This evening, I am posting information on Paton family history as sourced from a memorial stone at Old Cathcart Cemetery, Glasgow which reads:

James Paton, Weaver in Glasgow 1712.

Ground acquired instead of Lairs in College Churchyard taken for railway purposes May 10th 1877 when remains were removed here.

Lairs to be always held thus:

• 123 and 124 for descendants of James Paton.
• 125 to 127 for descendants of Janet Paton or Arbuckle.
• 128 and 129 for descendants of Annie Paton or Martin.

(Blogger's note: A Lair is a term for piece of ground for burial or burials.)
