This evening, I am posting information on an unusual grave-marker at Castlehead Church Burial Ground, Paisley.

This appears to have been established by a Burying Ground Society, in 1852, to mark the burial place of:

• James Wood
• Thomas Shirlaw.

( This may have been some early form of mutual/friendly society to cover burial costs.)
