Lauder Ancestry, Glasgow, Scotland

This evening, I am posting information on Lauder family history as sourced from a memorial at Glasgow Necropolis. This records the deaths of:

• John Lauder, Surgeon on Aug 28th 1847 age 40 years.
• John Lauder on Jan 24th 1844, age 62 yrs.
• Robert Lauder, died at New York on Oct 3rd 1848, age 43 yrs.
• James Lauder on March 13th 1854, age 40 yrs.
• Janet Steven on Sept 7th 1854 age 74 yrs.
• Mary Lauder on Nov 14th 1854, age 35 yrs.

The marker carries the following narrative:  "This is spot where stood dwelling house of the grandfather and grandmother of Dr Lauder 55 years ago which he chose for his resting place." Author's note: Glasgow Necropolis first opened in 1833.

• Alexander Marshall, Merchant on Aug 29th 1865, age 59 yrs.
• Barbara Lauder on Aug 1st 1875, age 73 yrs.
• Christina Lauder, wife of Robert Cairns, Merchant on April 8th 1878, age 69 yrs.
• Janet Lauder, wife of James Chalmers on Dec 3rd 1879, age 71 yrs..
