This morning I re-visted the Rose Garden in central Gorbals, Glasgow. In the 18th and early 19th centuries this area was 'upsacle' and home to wealthy business people and professionals.
The Rose Garden is now a public park the perimeter walls of which are embedded with various memorial stones which may suggest the park was previously a churchyard or cemetery.
The first video provides an 'overview' of the Rose Garden whilst the second video focuses on a memorial to William Gibb, a spirit dealer/merchant, who died Nov 1827 age 77 years.
