William Jameson Ancestry Tour Paisley Scotland
This afternoon I am posting an image taken last night ( with a cellphone camera) of a very old , horizontal, grave marker from the centre of Paisley. The marker is located in the grounds of a relatively modern evangelical church which must reside on a much older religious site.
The stone records the passing of William Jameson in February 1779 with the actual day of the month not legible.
Jameson must have been a notable citizen of his day to warrant such an impressive memorial. There is plenty of room on the stone for other family members but remains vacant.
I would be interested to learn who William Jameson was.
