• Margaret Wills Jackson Strang, wife of William Jr., on June 22nd 1961 age 76 yrs

This evening, I am posting a video clip of a Dallas family memorial from Cathcart Cemetery, Glasgow.

This records the death of Simon Dallas, Warehouseman, Magistrate of City of Glasgow. Born at Conon Bridge, Ross-Shire April 20th 1837, died at 6 Holyrood Crescent, Glasgow Feb 7th 1904. Also:

• SD's daughter, Julia Ann, wife of W.S. Chisholm, died Sept 25th 1914 age 48 yrs.
• SD's wife, Elizabeth Swan, died Jan 12th 1917 age 87 yrs
• SD's son, George Alexander, died Oct 14th 1926 age 63 yrs.
• Son, Simon, died May 5th 1931 age 67 yrs
• Son, John Dallas DL JP, Deacon Convenor of the Trades of Glasgow 1925-6, died Feb 5th 1950 age 77 yrs
  

Campbell Ancestry Glasgow Scotland

This evening, I am posting a video clip of a Campbell family memorial located in Cathcart Cemetery, Glasgow. This records the deaths of:

• John Campbell on Sept 25th 1904 age 64
• Helen Muir, wife of above, on April 25th 1934 age 91.
• John Campbell on March 24th 1936 age 65.
• Alexanderina, who lived Aug 15th 1885-April 1st 1952.

This evening, I am presenting a video clip following a visit to Cathcart Cemetery. Here I found a memorial to one Andrew Davie Manson, Oil Merchant of Glasgow. ADM was born June 18th 1856 and died April 1st 1913.

Craik Family Ancestry Glasgow Scotland

This evening, I am posting a video clip of a very interesting Craik family history from a memorial stone located in the Linn section of Cathcart Cemetery, Glasgow. This records the deaths of:

• John George Craik on July 31st 1951 age 83 yrs.
• Father of JGC, James Michie Craik who died in Madison, Wisconsin, USA on April 19th 1869 age 27 yrs.
• Mother of JGC, Annie Tennant Craik who died at Glasgow on Dec 22nd 1921 age 81 yrs.
• Aunt of JGC, Catherine George, died at Glasgow on Feb 24th 1919 age 84.
• Wife of JGC, Elizabeth Jane Laing died March 19th 1943 age 65 yrs
• Son of JGC, John George Craik on May 23rd 1936 age 37 yrs.
• Wife of JGC jr, Margaret M C Craik on Dec 14th 1997 age 98 yrs

Craik is an unusual name but appears to emanate from Dumfriesshire in the 13th century.
