This afternoon I am posting information on Fairweather family history as sourced from a memorial at Mearns Cemetery. This records the deaths of:

• Dame Margaret Eureka McIntyre, J.P.,
• Sir Wallace Fairweather, D.L., of Faside

Additional comment.

• The burial place is an extensive plot, possibly about 144 sq yards. 
• Names of deceased are recorded on recumbent paving slabs.
• The centrepiece monument holds a sun dial.
• No dates are provided. Research indicates that Sir Wallace was born 1853 and died 1938. Lady Margaret was born in Ballarat, Granville County, Victoria, Australia. Her life spanned the period 1855-1935.
• Sir Wallace was a consulting engineer and patent agent in Glasgow and London. He was involved in aviation and local government.
