It also records the death of:
- Thomas Lang who is recorded as dying on June 3rd 1796, age 90 years.
Comment
Longevity of Thomas Lang is highly unusual in a century when average life expectancy was about 40 years. Furthermore, there was no effective medical service or social security/welfare. It is reasonable to assume that Thomas Lang must have been reasonably wealthy ( to avail of a healthy diet) and be supported by an extended family. Noteworthy events in Thomas Lang's long life include formation of U.K. in 1707, two Jacobite uprisings and American independence.
