This afternoon, I am posting information on McGregor family history, as sourced from a memorial at Castlehead Church Burial Ground. This records the burial plot of:

• Duncan McGregor, Taylor in Paisley
• Habilla McCallum
• Heirs of above.

The stone is not dated but was probably set up around 1800 +/- 10 years..

The female name Habilla is highly unusual in Scotland. Possibly French but also common in W. Africa, as a male name or surname.Possibly connected with French/Belgian Huguenot immigration, a community strong in the weaving/textile industry in which Paisley excelled.
