- Four of his children are buried at the Cathedral.
- Wife, Louise Balfour died April 25th 1859.

This evening I am posting a video clip taken this morning of two Mackenzie memorials located in Glasgow Cathedral. James Mackenzie has both a memorial stone and stained glass window recording his life and death. This man was Lord Provost of Glasgow (Mayor) 1806-1808.
